Obama: How To Screw American Foreign Policy in 5 Easy Steps

Cross posted from Amy Proctor's Bottom Line Up Front

Yesterday in Washington, D.C., Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama laid out his anti-Bush foreign policy to undo as much of America’s international progress in the past 7 years as possible. (SPEECH TRANSCRIPT) His 5 simple steps to achieve mediocrity are as follows:
OBAMA: I will focus this strategy on 5 goals essential to making America safer.
1. Ending the war in Iraq responsibly.
2. Finishing the fight against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.
3. Securing all nuclear weapons and materials from terrorists and rogue states.
4. Achieving true energy security
5. Rebuilding our alliances to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Sound good, doesn’t it? The devil is in the details (see video below)

FULL VIDEO OF SPEECH HERE
Speech highlights include:
Acknowledging the success of the surge and saying his objective will be to pull troops ASAP from Iraq regardless of conditions on the ground
Claiming Iraqis had failed to achieve any political progress or national reconciliation
Saying Iraqis need to start stepping up and fight for their own country
Accusing Pres. Bush of purposely misleading America into a needless war to rid Iraq of Saddam and WMD while vowing to rid the world of terrorist leaders and WMD
Telling Pakistan we will enter its borders or airspace with or without permission to kill al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden

There were some great lines in the Obama speech. These ones in particular deserve an award and special recognition:
2nd Runner-up Obama comment:
Both America and Iraq will be more secure when the terrorist in Anbar is taken out by the Iraqi Army, and the criminal in Baghdad fears Iraqi Police, not just coalition forces.
STATING THE OBVIOUS: Anbar Province was transferred from Coalition Forces to Iraqi provincial control in June 2008.
1st Runner Up Obama comment:
(We will) send once more a message to those yearning faces beyond our shores that says, “You matter to us. Your future is our future. And our moment is now.”
STATING THE OBVIOUS: This does not apply to Iraqis.
Winning Obama comment:
America seeks a world with no nuclear weapons. As long as nuclear weapons exist, we must retain a strong deterrent.
STATING THE OBVIOUS: What kind of deterrent does Obama offer when he calls Iraq Bush’s willful lie because there were not stockpiles of WMD?

Hopefully every American citizen watched this speech yesterday. It was so uninformed and hypocritical it can only show what harm an inexperienced Commander in Chief can do.

A note from Radarsite: Bravo to our friend Amy Proctor for this forceful argument against the perils of an Obama presidency. Nothing could be more disastrous for this already vulnerable nation than to elect this man. Also, it is perhaps important to notice that not once in this excellent article did the subject of Obama's race come up. The dangers inherent in an Obama victory involve far more than the issues of race or racial prejudice, they involve the safety and security of this country. Almost everything Obama advocates for our future foreign policy plays into the hands of our enemies. Whether this is a result of political naivete or conscious design is almost irrelevant; it's actual implementation -- as Amy Proctor so vividly points out -- would be disastrous. - rg

  1. I agree with this wholeheartedly...and they were WMD's!
Myself and others have posted articles in the past confirming the WMD's but the mainstream media refuses to acknowledge this...I initially reported about the 1.77 metric tons that were removed and there was and article recently (that I'm sure you can google) that had to do with that yellow stuff (forgot what it was called) and again the lame-stream-media cowardly continues to mis-inform the lame-stream-Americans.
Obama will continue with platitudes and his oratory gift of gab and the American Idol fans will drool all over this perfidious scum! I'm getting to the point of wishing it will happen so that I can scream into thier ignorant minds, "I TOLD YOU SO !"

  2. Next week he will say something different. He can't go a week without a flip-flop.

  4. I was disappointed by Obama's basic lack of understanding about the war. I don't think his main focus is to mislead..I think he really believes his own lack of information.

And he wants to rid the world of WMD! That's rich!

  5. Taking the war to Pakistan is perhaps the most foolish thing America can do. Obama is not the first to suggest it, and we already have sufficient evidence of the potentially negative repercussions of such an action. On January 13, 2006, the United States launched a missile strike on the village of Damadola, Pakistan. Rather than kill the targeted Ayman al-Zawahiri, al-Qaeda’s deputy leader, the strike instead slaughtered 17 locals. This only served to further weaken the Musharraf government and further destabilize the entire area. In a nuclear state like Pakistan, this was not only unfortunate, it was outright stupid. Pakistan has 160 million Arabs (better than half of the population of the entire Arab world). Pakistan also has the support of China and a nuclear arsenal.

I predict that America’s military action in the Middle East will enter the canons of history alongside Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the Holocaust, in kind if not in degree. The Bush administration’s war on terror marks the age in which America has again crossed a line that many argue should never be crossed. Call it preemption, preventive war, the war on terror, or whatever you like; there is a sense that we have again unleashed a force that, like a boom-a-rang, at some point has to come back to us. The Bush administration argues that American military intervention in the Middle East is purely in self-defense. Others argue that it is pure aggression. The consensus is equally as torn over its impact on international terrorism. Is America truly deterring future terrorists with its actions? Or is it, in fact, aiding the recruitment of more terrorists?

The last thing the United States should do at this point and time is to violate yet another state’s sovereignty. Beyond being wrong, it just isn't very smart. We all agree that slavery in this country was wrong; as was the decimation of the Native American populations. We all agree that the Holocaust and several other acts of genocide in the twentieth century were wrong. So when will we finally admit that American military intervention in the Middle East is wrong as well?

  6. To John Maszka --

"I predict that America’s military action in the Middle East will enter the canons of history alongside Hiroshima, Nagasaki and the Holocaust, in kind if not in degree."

"The last thing the United States should do at this point and time is to violate yet another state’s sovereignty."

I am leaving these comments up for now, but then that's it. These two quotes show your true colors. To attempt to equate America's actions in WWI with the Nazi's Holocaust is not only stupid, it is outrageous and despicable.

And as far as violating another state's sovereignty is concerned, once again in perfect sync with the liberal manifesto; you purposely neglect to mention our enemies and their actions. as though the Imperialist American bully is operating in a vacuum.

Then, to top off your anti-American rant, you bring up slavery and the American Indians.

Here's the bottom line Mr. Maszko, as is clearly stated in our welcome message, this is a pro-American, pro-military, pro-Israel website. This is a website devoted to winning the war that was imposed on us by our Islamic enemies, and it will not serve as a platform for anti-American rhetoric.

To attempt, as you most assuredly are doing, to undermine the moral integrity of our nation while this nation is at war is contemptible.
And even more contemptible is the fact that I am sure that you consider yourself a true patriot.
God save us from your treacherous patriotism.
