A note from Radarsite: Because of the controversial final sentence in this magisterial essay, its erudite and passionate author, our good friend and compatriot Ben from A Newt One, has seen some of his former friends and fellow bloggers turn away from him in anger. Yes, the sentence is that powerful. And yes, people feel that strongly about the issues involved in those few disruptive words. I have watched as some of these arguments have become increasingly hardened and bitter. Others disagree with his sentence a little more calmly, more reasonably, but they nonetheless disagree. I think I could safely say that his final sentence is almost universally unpopular among his fellow conservatives, some of whom feel shocked and betrayed by his admittedly contentious ideas and his unyielding stance.
But, if anyone knows Ben, then they most certainly know that he is not easily deterred nor intimidated. If he believes that what he is stating is the truth, he will not bend, and the pressure forced upon him only serves to harden his resolve. You see, Ben is a very serious man with a very serious mission, and he will not be dissuaded, not even by the anger of his peers. To say that he is passionate about his beliefs is a gross understatement. If Ben were on the other side in this war (and thank God he isn't) we would call him a fanatic. And he probably is. But he's our fanatic. And I can say, without exaggeration, that our friend and resident scholar has influenced my thinking about Islam more than any other writer I have come in contact with. Through Ben's breadth of knowledge and invaluable insight into the labyrinthine darkness of Islam I have become aware, slowly but surely aware of the magnitude of this imminent threat we are facing. And the more I have learned about this horrible Religion of Peace, the harder I have become. And that, my friends, is a good thing, a very good thing. Because this is precisely what we need and what we have not yet achieved: hardness, clarity, strength of will, and finally, resolve. Resolve to stand our ground and fight for all that we have achieved. And we cannot do that, we will not do that unless we understand who the enemy is and exactly what is at stake. And sometimes the only people who really get through to us are those people who are themselves driven, who will not be dissuaded or deterred in their mission, in short, people who are fanatic in their beliefs. Fanatics like our friend and mentor Ben.
I completely disagree with Ben's argument put forth in that last controversial sentence. so much so that I actually considered dropping the whole idea of publishing this essay. That is, until I came to my senses. This is without question one of the most thorough and damning indictments of Barack Hussein Obama you will ever read. Not because of some new scandalous revelation of some dark and devious relationship in his past, not because it points out some new awkward and embarrassing gaffs or demonstrates some new flaws in his inscrutable character. But because he takes him straight on, word for false word, dissecting his charismatic message sentence by devious sentence, and we can listen and we can understand.
And this, my friends, is one time in our nation's history when it is absolutely imperative that we thoroughly understand.
We have been promised Change. And therein lies the rub. We must understand and appreciate just exactly what kind of change we are being groomed for. What new kind of America we are being asked to embrace. And, most importantly, will it still be America?
For the sake of one incendiary sentence with which I completely disagree, I will not pass up this opportunity to share this magnificent analysis of a vital political speech with my faithful readers.
It's just too damn important.
It's just not good enough to say we don't like Obama, or that we don't trust Obama, or that we're not going to vote for Obama, we have to know why we will not vote for Obaba. Unless we know why he is a danger to our nation, unless we ourselves are thoroughly convinced that he does indeed represent a real danger, then we stand no chance at all of convincing others.
I hope you find this essay as enlightening as I have. Thank you once again Ben for all of your hard work on our behalf. We are all the richer for it. - rg

At the Moderate Voice, Tony Campbell refers to Barack Hussein Obama as The Political Pop Star. He concentrates on two quotes, about the 'walls' and 'ideological defeat of the U.S.S.R'. With the help of that site, I found a prepared copy of Senator Obama's Berlin address. I offer selected excerpts and critical commentary including the usual irrefutable evidence.Caution: this post may induce incontinence.
As prepared for delivery:
I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen – a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.
Is his national pride a function of his candidacy, like his wife's or has he always been a proud American? When did 'the world' become a passport issuing artificial legal entity and how did he become its citizen? Why, as a proud American, does he need any other citizenship? Is America insufficient to meet his needs?
The poverty and violence in Somalia breeds the terror of tomorrow.
Yesterday I posted information about the real source of Islamic terrorism; it is not poverty, it is not violence, it is not ignorance, it is not repression. Islamic doctrine is the fountain from which terrorism flows. Why is there violence in Somalia? Because it is dominated by an Islamic regime, which seeks to conquer or kill indigenous people and seize their property. No U.N. mission; no 'peace keepers' will stop the Jihad in Somalia. Only the complete removal of Islam;s deadly influence will stop it. There is no peace while there is Islam. You can not keep what does not exist, you must make it first. Only victory: the complete elimination of Moe's murder cult can make peace.
The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. Meaning: we must kiss Europe's ass and submit to their superior judgment in all things. They, being Socialists, know best; we must do everything their way.
The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. Meaning: we must impoverish ourselves to enrich the less productive societies... eg. Obama's Global Poverty Act.
The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. Meaning: We must kiss Islam's ass and submit and pay Jizya like good dhimmis. Israel's security barrier has prevented many attacks and saved many lives, but it can not stop rockets. Senator Obama would tear it down and permit Muslims to infiltrate and blow up schools and restaurants.
This is the moment when we must defeat terror and dry up the well of extremism that supports it. This threat is real and we cannot shrink from our responsibility to combat it.
Terror is not an enemy, it is a tactic. Whose tactic is it? Who is the enemy? What is the 'well of extremism'? Senators Obama & McCain will not answer those questions. Being an equal opportunity offender, I have answered them in the past and will repeat the answer. The well of extremism is Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence. The following excerpts are not extremism, they are intrinsic doctrines; the standard of Islam. They are what Islam is, what Muslims do if they obey Allah & his messenger as they are commanded to do.
We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, [3:151]
I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes. [8:12]
And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allah) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allah Alone [in the whole of the world ]. [8:39]
And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to threaten the enemy of Allah and your enemy, [8:60 Hilali & Khan]
Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of God [8:60 Yusuf Ali]
It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. [8:67]
Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [9:29]
"I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah."[Bukhari 1.8.387]
I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy) [Bukhari 4.52.220]
They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair. [Abu Dawud 38.4390]There you have the ultimate source of Islamic aggression, genocide & terrorism: Allah & Moe, the founding standard of Islam, not extremism. Mistranslation? No, I furnished links to a site which displays nine translations of the Qur'an. Compare them; which one is non-violent? Misinterpretation? Explain the congruity of the cited ayat & ahadith. Why did Moe confirm Allah's commands with his tongue and sword? Ibn Kathir spent a life time studying Islamic scripture, tradition & law. He confirms the obvious meaning of the quotations displayed here. Follow these links, read the ayat & ahadith he cites and his interpretation.
The Command to have Enmity towards the Disbelievers and to abandon supporting Them
The Command to strike the Enemies' Necks, tighten Their Bonds, and then free Them either by an Act of Grace or for a Ransom
The Order to fight until there is no more Fitnah
Allah gives Victory to the Believing Group
Permission to fight; this is the first Ayah of Jihad
The Order for Jihad against the Disbelievers, the Closest, then the Farthest Areas
The Order to fight to eradicate Shirk and Kufr
The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah
The Order for Jihad against the Disbelievers and Hypocrites
The Good News that Muslims will conquer the Known World, and ultimately the Entire World
The Good News that Muslims will Dominate the People of the Book
The Good News that Islam shall prevail
How can Allah's orders be extremism when they are the standard of Islamic conduct, to be believed and carried out? If you have any doubt of this fatal fact, read Ibn Kathir's Tafsir of 3:7. Terrorism is not extremism, it is Islam. Jihad is not extremism, it is Islam. Genocide is not extremism, it is Islam.
If we could create NATO to face down the Soviet Union, we can join in a new and global partnership to dismantle the networks that have struck in Madrid and Amman; in London and Bali; in Washington and New York.
What networks? Nothing but Islam! Al-Qaeda, etc., etal. are nothing but subsets of Islam. Moe did not have an Al-Qaeda to slaughter his innocent victims, he had his own sword and those of his companions. Every Mosque on the face of the earth is part of the network of genocidal terror. Who will be our partner in dismantling Islam, and how does Senator Obama propose to complete the mission?
If we could win a battle of ideas against the communists, we can stand with the vast majority of Muslims who reject the extremism that leads to hate instead of hope. We did not win the battle of ideas against Communism. The Communist Party holds the majority of seats in the Duma. Neither do the majority of Muslims reject Jihad, genocide & terrorism, if they did, they would not be Muslims, they would be heretics, apostates or hypocrites. The penalty for rejecting any verse of the Qur'an, including those cited above, is death. Read Book O.8.7 of Reliance of the Traveler.
This is the moment when we must renew our resolve to rout the terrorists who threaten our security in Afghanistan.
There are no terrorists, there are only faithful, believing Muslims. Our security is threatened by Islam, wherever dispersed over the face of the earth. The threat is not confined to Afghanistan. Neither can Islam be defeated. Muslims must be liberated from Allah's yoke of slavery or ushered into Hell. Islam's threat is timeless and persistent, until it conquers the entire world.
This is the moment when we must renew the goal of a world without nuclear weapons. The two superpowers that faced each other across the wall of this city came too close too often to destroying all we have built and all that we love. With that wall gone, we need not stand idly by and watch the further spread of the deadly atom. It is time to secure all loose nuclear materials; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to reduce the arsenals from another era. This is the moment to begin the work of seeking the peace of a world without nuclear weapons.
Pandora's box is open, and the lid is lost. The demon can not be returned to the box. If we disarm, we will be destroyed. Only a damn fool dreams of total global nuclear disarmament. Were all the existing weapons destroyed tomorrow, Islam's oil revenue would soon finance their return, in the worst possible hands.
This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.
Those are code words for international Socialism. Read them carefully. "Protection" & "free trade" are mutually exclusive polar opposites.
This is the moment we must help answer the call for a new dawn in the Middle East.
That would be a Middle East without Islam, which is not what Senator Obama intended by his words.
My country must stand with yours and with Europe in sending a direct message to Iran that it must abandon its nuclear ambitions. Messages mean nothing to Muslims. Only death or disillusion will stop their drive toward world domination.
We must support the Lebanese who have marched and bled for democracy, and the Israelis and Palestinians who seek a secure and lasting peace.
Lebanon can not have peace and liberty while more than half its population is Muslim. Disperse them, kill them or convert them, your choice. No "Palestinians" seek peace; they seek reconquest: genocide & policide. If you seek peace, get rid of them or cause them to cease being Muslims.
And despite past differences, this is the moment when the world should support the millions of Iraqis who seek to rebuild their lives, even as we pass responsibility to the Iraqi government and finally bring this war to a close.
Sunni & Shi'ia do not seek to rebuild their lives, they seek to eliminate each other. There can be no peace, security nor freedom in Iraq until its population is no longer Muslim.
Now the world will watch and remember what we do here – what we do with this moment. Will we extend our hand to the people in the forgotten corners of this world who yearn for lives marked by dignity and opportunity; by security and justice? Will we lift the child in Bangladesh from poverty, shelter the refugee in Chad, and banish the scourge of AIDS in our time?
No, we won't; those are impossible dreams, incapable of realization in the short term. Attempts to do so can only impoverish and enslave us, reducing us to the level of those whom Senator Obama wants us to pull kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
Will we stand for the human rights of the dissident in Burma, the blogger in Iran, or the voter in Zimbabwe? Will we give meaning to the words “never again” in Darfur?
No, we won't, because we are risk averse, not willing to suffer casualties in protracted wars.
Will we welcome immigrants from different lands, and shun discrimination against those who don’t look like us or worship like we do, and keep the promise of equality and opportunity for all of our people?
Senator Obama is asking if we will let the world come in and take us over, as the Muslims and Mexicans are already doing. We don't worry about how people worship unless it is by tormenting & killing us, which Islam does. It is Islam which is intolerant, immutably, by design.
What has always driven our people; what drew my father to America’s shores – is a set of ideals that speak to aspirations shared by all people: that we can live free from fear and free from want; that we can speak our minds and assemble with whomever we choose and worship as we please.
What drives your people is tribalism; and since 638, Islamic supremacism & triumphalism. Muslims do not seek to live free of fear, they seek to impose it upon us. Muslims and international Socialists want their wants met at our expense. Muslims seek to make us worship as they choose.
But I come before you to say that we are heirs to a struggle for freedom. We are a people of improbable hope. With an eye toward the future, with resolve in our hearts, let us remember this history, and answer our destiny, and remake the world once again.
Lets start by stopping McCain, nominating an articulate, passionate Conservative at the Republican National Convention and waging an all out campaign to defeat Senator Obama and replace the Liberals in Congress with Conservatives.
Ben 07/26/08
RE: Lets start by stopping McCain, nominating an articulate, passionate Conservative at the Republican National Convention and waging an all out campaign to defeat Senator Obama and replace the Liberals in Congress with Conservatives.
ReplyDeleteAlthough not a bad idea in itself but what is really needed is some 'total independence' from the national parties. Both the Democrats and the Republicans have been in collusion in respect to so many matters...and that one that really matters; The FEC laws that control our elective process. We no longer have real choices. Only the D-R media choices. If the media were totally honest (what a dumb 'if') it would be feasable to bring in an articulate, passionate Conservative un-incumbered by the D-R's politic elite.
Roger: IF we could do what Ben wants in his last sentence, then I would be all for it. However, I don't think it's possible now. We are stuck with McCain.
ReplyDeleteMcCain is not a true Conservative, he has proven that over and over. I don't like McCain and I did not vote for him in the primaries.
If I thought we had a chance to get rid of McCain, I would be all for it. But I don't.
Debbie Hamilton
Right Truth
Thank you for the great build up,Roger. On re-reading the essay here, I conclude that only the last sentence is incendiary; the rest is explosive, as though it was printed in fulminate, on primacord.
ReplyDeleteIn Australia, Britain or Canada, we would be hauled into court for uttering & publishing those truthful words. In Arabia, we would be tortured and executed.
Brit Hume, on Fox News Sunday, called the speech "empty calories". We have shown otherwise, that it is a target rich environment.
Norm, the paucity of choice results from division & disorganization among the Conservatives.
ReplyDeleteWe let the media and left wing interlopers make our choice for us.
Supernumerary parties don't have a chance because of the popular perception that they don't have a chance; a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Perhaps the message is valid, that we should "... start by stopping McCain, nominating an articulate, passionate Conservative at the Republican National Convention and waging an all out campaign to defeat Senator Obama and replace the Liberals in Congress with Conservatives."
ReplyDeleteBut there is also something very American in working with what we have in hand. Wishcraft won't cut it. As to correcting the current trend; I'm afraid the toothpaste has been out of the tube too long already. McCain will, at least be a holding action. Messages, after a messenger is shot, are rarely read but for amusement.
The ground lost was conservative ground, lost by conservatives we believed in. There is no reason to believe we can add water and stir up a solution.
With a most likely curtailment of the freedom of speech with the "Fainess Doctrine", we will be even more handicapped and means to compete against propaganda powers will be even more difficult.
But, American resourcefulness can contend with that also.
Maybe we're neglecting the ground upon which we stand.
If we can find a patch of grass that isn't infested with Federal weeds, then we must work there.
There are few organs of local government that are not already ruined by federal-infectation; education and policing budgets are tied to political correctitude by all kinds of nuanced and intrusive 'civil liberties' with the exception of our basic rights; the inelieniable ones.
There is also, like it or not, how we make the appeal; jingoism, declarations of being conservative snakeaters and haters, won't sell. Not that the arguments aren't valid, but our population has an acquired taste (very delicate unless it's on a video-game).
(Oh, yes. One other thing. Let's not forget that it's not us verse 'them'. We've been here as long as they have and we have watched them grow. If our arguments at one point weren't compelling enough; there's no reason to think they will now. So, our anger won't win. Thus we have to ween them off fantasy and....well...how about natural foods; meat and potatoes.
Ben's last sentence is against the principles of democracy. A nice idea, but the majority of Republicans have chosen McCain. That is the decision that the Republican Party must stand on.
ReplyDeleteThe majority of Democrats have chosen Obama. There is a move to rip the rug from under Obama's feet with an upset at the convention in favor of Clinton. That would tear the Democratic Party in 2. Obama's doing a nice time of that though.
Islam is the curse upon the world. Where ever it raises its ugly head and takes over, poverty and disease follow. Take India for example: India before the Mogul conquest was a thriving, prosperous land. Even with all of its classes, its people were prosperous, educated and healthy. After the Mogul conquest poverty and disease became the norm.
That was just one example. For some of the richest nations on Earth are Muslim nations. But these are some of the nations with the lowest literacy rates, highest poverty rates, highest unemployment rates, highest child mortality rates, lowest life expectancy rates. Why is this? Because the Great Pedophile was illiterate and praised illiteracy and poverty. He encouraged it in his followers. Thus we get both in all Muslim nations.
Shawmut, weaning the electorate off fantasies is impossible when our own nominee is a snake oil salesman peddling 'global climate change', 'health care' & 'Radical Islamic extremism'.
ReplyDeleteConservative principles only prevail when they are clearly articulated. McCain can't and won't because he is not a Conservative.
He claims to oppose the UnFairness Doctrine, but he was the chief sponsor of McCain-Feingold. Whats the difference between criticizing 'crats in a tv ad vs in a radio show? The adv. probably has a larger audience and costs more. McCain censored the tv adv.
Remember, McCain 'reaches across the aisle' to 'work with' 'crats. That is another way of saying that he submits to their will. The UnFairness Docrine is their will; he will submit. You will vote for McCain and get Obama, either way. We lose.
Findalis, McCain was the selection of 43.5%, less than a majority in the primaries and caucuses. He is a minority candidate. Most voters preferred someone else.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where I've been to have overlooked this excellent site before, but those days are gone. Tremendously informative site. I'm linked.
ReplyDeletehttp://dailyinsults.blogspot.com/
43.5% is still the majority in this case. The other candidates are backing him. The party must stay united if they want to win in November. If the right tries and pull a coup at the convention, Obama will win. If Clinton supporters do the same in Denver, Obama will lose. We can hope for disunity coming out of Denver and Unity coming out of the Republicans.
ReplyDeleteNext time maybe the Republicans will back someone more to the right. Though I doubt it.
Whether or not McCain was our choice for the nomination, he is the selected choice of the primary voters. To take the nomination away from him now would smack of the very thing we accused Hillary of having up her sleeve with Obama.
ReplyDeletehad Hillary pulled that one off, she would have lost the votes of millions of angry Democrats. Taking the nomination away from McCain at this point would cost millions of votes from angry Republicans, and rightfully so. McCain won the primary fair and square, so we need to get behind him against Obama.
Of course, we need to hold his feet to the fire on Illegal immigration and ANWR, but he will get my vote in November. The alternative is too awful to think about.
We have a choice-McCain or Obama. I know who I am going to vote for. If disappointed conservatives stay home or vote for Bob Barr, they are only putting Obama in the White House.
gary fouse

Gary, I make no secret of the fact that I intend to write in Alan Keyes if McCain is nominated.
ReplyDeleteMcCain:
1. not a Republican
2. not a Conservative
3. disrespects the first amendment
4. selected as a result of media manipulation and 'crat interlopers.
In my youth, I swore a profane oath that I would never knowingly vote for a 'crat, Liberal, Communist, Socialist nor liar. I haven't; I won't.
A vote for Barr or Keyes or any other candidate or even not voting is a VOTE FOR OBAMA.
ReplyDeleteIf it was Hillary I'd say ok. But Obama is really that scary.
It is better to vote for a candidate that supports some of your positions than hope to survive 4 years with a President that supports none of your positions.
Thanks everyone for your enthusiastic responses to Ben's essay. I suspected that that one sentence of his about McCain might just take over the whole conversation, and I guess I was right. lol
ReplyDeleteTo Bird -- What a nice greeting. Thank you and welcome to Radarsite. Come back often.

Findalis, one word must be used in an accurate description of Senator McCain: Fake. He is not Conservative. He considered running on Kerry's ticket, so we know he is not Republican. He enabled the 'crats to continue Filibustering Judicial nominations. Why in Hell would I vote for him?
ReplyDeleteOnly a vote for Obama is a vote for Obama. The outcome of any election is indeterminate until the votes are counted & the count is certified. The candidate who gets the most votes in the Electoral College is elected.
Voting has both individual and collective elements. I have control over the individual element in the case of my own ballot. In my township, the majority will go for the Republican nominee. In my congressional district, the majority will go the other way. In the state, the majority will go to the 'crat slate of electors. I can do nothing to alter that fact. For my part, I will not knowingly vote for a Socialist nor a liar. That is an absolute which will never change during my lifetime. You can count on it.
McCain says that he admires Islam, that it has many good principles. Can you guess where that goes with me? It is directly against the grain of my long white beard. No and Hell no!! Neither McCain nor Obama will get my vote.
I agree with Ben that Islamic doctrine is the issue. There is no extremism...it is all extreme. We cannot moderate anything about Islam.
ReplyDeleteWe are stuck with John McCain and I deplore it. I think we need another Party but have no idea how we would pull that off - or who could lead the way. We could start with Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo. I'd vote for that ticket in a minute.
Republicans will not find their way back to our Conservative values.
The two parties are joined at the hip until an election comes around and then you see some pitiful attempts at separation.
Great essay Ben.
Maggie
Maggie's Notebook
Ben there you are wrong. The first President Bush lost re-election due to Ross Perot. Those voters would have voted for Bush in '92. Gore lost in 2000 due to Ralph Nader. Those voters otherwise would have voted for Gore.
ReplyDeleteA vote for Barr or any other candidate is a vote for Obama. You won't be seeing Donkeycrats running towards Nader or Green Party this time. But if Conservatives run towards Barr, than Obama wins.
That is why 3rd parties are known as "spoiler parties". They can ruin a candidates election.
No, Findalis, G.H.W. Bush lost because he 'reached across the aisle to Democrats' after saying "Read my lips: NO NEW TAXES~". That was the second time I wrote in Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteA vote is a vote, nothing more, nothing less. It is only effective if enough other voters vote the same way. I do not knowingly vote for Democrats. liars nor Socialists. I vote for the best candidate who meets my minimum requirements, regardless of what the pollsters say. I don't play the odds, I do what I believe to be right.
