WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sen. Joe Lieberman is urging Google Inc. to take down YouTube videos that he says al Qaeda and “other terrorist organizations” use to encourage violence and disseminate propaganda.
In a Monday letter addressed to Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt, Lieberman — who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee — asked that YouTube “implement its own policy against this offensive material,” by removing the videos and preventing them from reappearing. The letter follows his committee’s staff report on terrorists’ Internet use.
YouTube is a subsidiary of Google Inc.
“Many of the videos produced by one of the production arms of al-Qaeda show attacks on U.S. forces in which American soldiers are injured and, in some cases, killed,” Lieberman, an Independent from Connecticut, wrote in the letter.

A note from Radarsite: Congratulations Sen. Lieberman. Thank you for at least trying to fight back against an enemy who uses our own constitutional freedoms (and our own collaborationist leftist enablers)to wage this sickening war of propaganda against us right here on the home front. We must fight the fight to take our country back. But it won't be easy. Already the ACLU and their cohorts are sharpening up their trusty "slippery slope" arguments against any form of "Big Brotherism" censorship. I can already hear their lawyers breathing heavy at the possibilities of innumerable lawsuits on behalf of these poor beleaguered companies, like Google, who are in danger of losing their rights of free speech, their rights to undermine the moral foundations of our country during a time of war.

Not only should these reprehensible videos be immediately removed, but the sites who post them should be prosecuted for treason. That monumental liberal icon FDR would have done exactly that. In fact, he most likely would have had them shot.

This, admittedly, is a just first step. A small, tentative step, whose chances of actually accomplishing anything worthwhile at this low point in our national history are unfortunately not too promising. However, compared to our current posture, which is shamefully prone and inactive, this represents an important and heartening move in the right direction.

For our part, we writers must make the most of it. When someone, like the good Sen. Leiberman stands up to these traitors amongst us we must rise to his defense and loudly applaud his courage.

Now, if only he'd reconsider joining forces with John McCain...

  1. Truly a well-aimed cannonade by Senator Lieberman.
I will herein echo my comments on the matter Gary Fouse raised.
This is an organized effort to foster crimes (as the country hasn't found a fit definition suitable for asymmetrical warfare by which to prosecute). If it was child-porn or drugs and a criminnal element was behind it, we'd hear about it.
So while we're at it let's chase them with RICO. We got a successful prosecution against a Hezbollah ring.

  2. It's about time someone did something about this filth. Could you image some grieving family being sent a video of their son or daughter's death? I have taken the liberty of placing a link to Operation YouTube Smackdown and a hat tip to you for tomorrows Post.

  3. Thanks Shawmut. I agree 100%. I've written previously about applying the RICO statutes -- as we did with the Mob. It's such an obviously good idea, why the hell aren't we doing it?

And Findalis -- good for you. Go for it.

  4. Google( You Tube) needs to rearrange its resaons for LIVING..I could not agree with Liberman more than when he said that since they not only show the KILLINGS of our Young Men, they also provide World Wide training methods for such insanity and via the WEb they can aid in forming groups of KNOT HEADS all over the World... Is this Not the Time for some degree of INTELLIGENT Beings being Rediscovered in America???

  5. We were fairly successful in the Hezbollah (cigarettes) case out of Charlotte, NC. It almost didn't make it because of turf-wars.
My cynical guess is just that.
However, I muse at how many of the "Best Men Jihadists Can Buy" would turn up from the political rosters.
The American citizen is the one commodity that seems to have re-sale value no matter what. We're sold out faster Sox-Yankee than tickets - (For Instant-Re-Plays, with a junket thrown in; half price).
