A Very Special Letter

A note from Radarsite: Today, Thanksgiving, I received a very special letter, delivered to me from a good friend of mine. Evidently, my friend had talked to the writer about me and about my present circumstances. I thought my loyal Radarsite readers would be interested. - rg

Dear Roger,

Laura and I wanted to send you a letter of encouragement. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

We hope the support of your family and friends is of great comfort to you during this difficult time. Your strength and determination demonstrate the American spirit. May God bless you and your family.

George W. Bush

  1. I am astounded, Roger. Not that you don't deserve recognition, but that our president really does recognize us out here.

    A special letter indeed.

I will surely miss President Bush after January 20, 2009.

  2. What an honor! How awesome is that to get a letter like that? Totally cool, Roger!

  3. What an honor and what a privilege it is.

    You deserve special recognition.

  4. Roger, what a wonderful, warm letter - and from our Nation's President and First Lady. That is soooo George W. Bush.

See, you've got all us little guys out here praying for you, and the President as well.

You rest up now. You've got a heavy week ahead of you.

  5. Roger,

President George W. Bush possesses a kind and gentle heart. Too many times we have, as a people, seen the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth, weep openly during Congressional Medal of Honor ceremonies, Memorial Day commemorations, visits to Walter Reed Hospital, visits to Baghdad, etc.

I am not the least bit surprised that he took the time to write you a letter of encouragement.

I, for one, earnestly believe you deserve the time he spent letting you know you were in his thoughts and prayers.

It was clearly a letter from one great American to another.

Hope your Thanksgiving was more than wonderful.

    Take care out there.

  6. A special letter indeed and it is good that Bush has people that lead him to his supporters so that he can show his support for you as you have shown for him.

    Thanks Roger.

  7. Wow, what an honour, and how special and treasured is that! Good for you Roger. Pam
