Not Fair, Not Balanced: A Personal Election '08 Message From Radarsite

A personal message from Radarsite: Fox News is the only cable news channel that I can bear to watch these days. But lately I find I can only watch portions of it. I can no longer tolerate those smiley upbeat newscasters, grinning their way through their election coverage as though they were giving us updates on Dancing With The Stars. I don't want to hear the pundits talking enthusiastically about how this is the most exciting presidential election they've ever covered. I stopped listening to Bill O'Reilly long before he began describing Barack Obama as a 'good man' and a 'patriot'. I will no longer merely agree to disagree with those friends and acquaintances who think Obama would be good for America; I just don't talk to them anymore. When I see an Obama sign on someones lawn I don't just walk on by and ignore it, I feel a sense of shock and disbelief, almost as powerful as though I had just seen the word Hitler.

Of course my friends think I take it all too seriously. They have a much healthier view of it all, a much more cavalier attitude. Politics is politics, they say. It's the same old game. Not worth getting yourself all upset about it. Liberals who have responded to my emotional pleas and dire warnings have invariably characterized me as a bitter, lonely, hate-filled right-winger racist, an obsessive anti-social paranoid, clinging to a semi-mythical and long-gone past. An uptight reactionary, fearful of change, stubbornly rejecting the promise of a bright future.

This is what it means to be a patriot in an America that has moved so far left that patriotism has become just another ism, another form of fanaticism. An America where love of country is equated with a low IQ, and belief in American exceptionalism is considered the worst example of blind hubris and historical ignorance. America has moved so far left that normalcy has become marginalized. If you don't want your neighborhood kindergarten teaching the values of an alternative life style to little kids you are prejudiced and intolerant. And now they want us to acknowledge our national guilt, and to move us even further to the left, into those glorious realms of the great Socialist Utopia, into the waiting arms of those compassionate bureaucrats and amoral atheists.

Well, I'm sorry if my passion disturbs you. But dammit, this is not just another election, this is about life and death, the life or death of a great country, of a great dream; our great country and our great dream. There is no room in my heart for kind words or private concession speeches to a victorious Barack Obama. No place here for fair and balanced. I do not watch him now, and I do not listen to his speeches. He is the enemy, and if he actually wins this election I will continue this practice. I will read transcripts of his speeches and I will follow his every move. I will continue writing about him and continue making my emotional pleas and dire warnings, but I will not allow his evil presence into my home. But, you say, even Bill O'Reilly says he is a 'good man' and a 'patriot'. To which I answer, Bill O'Reilly is a pompous fool and Barack Hussein Obama is the personification of the destruction of America.

This, my friends, is how fanatical I am. Not fair, not balanced. But not bitter, and thankfully, not alone.

  2. Well, Roger -- I think you said that pretty well. I am utterly aghast when I see those Obama bumper stickers, too. I find that I try (rather automatically) to steer clear of those vehicles, in much the same way I'd naturally try to avoid a vehicle that's being driven by a drunk. I am literally afraid of the intellect that is behind that wheel.

I don't quite know what to make of people who are so pro-Obama. It's actually frightening; it doesn't make sense to me and that bothers me, too. Not that I can't stand someone having a different opinion, but the Obamites are intending to drag the rest of us along with them into ... God, whatever horrors a Democrat monopoly can inflict before it is deposed.

I went through a period (a couple weeks ago) of abject misery and despair. The all-consuming insanity and illogic of this -- that perhaps a majority in the country actually want an Obama presidency -- it's just unfathomable. Just as I'd have great difficulty severing one of my own limbs with a spoon, I can't imaging enthusiastically supporting things like: higher taxes, loss of free choice in things like health-care, restriction or elimination of 2nd amendment rights, censorship and "fairness doctrine", greater government intervention in our lives, ... etc. The list goes on and on.

I wonder frequently, who are these people? Is this really happening, or is it genuinely a consipiracy on a national scale?

Then I ran upon Radarsite, and I have been reassured that, no - I don't believe I'm crazy. I began to question my sanity a couple weeks ago, but now, I'm back on level. Resigned to go forward, into the fire if necessary.

Thanks, Roger. You are doing many of us a good thing, simply by writing and collecting these things, things that give hope to "the rest of us" that missed the "change" bandwagon.

    -Jeff

The only shows I watch are Hannity and Greta.

We are going to defeat Obama on Tuesday.

  4. I'm with you, too, Roger. I stopped watching Obama's over-hyped rallies a week ago. Fortunately, most of my friends agree with me, but if they don't-- like you, I can do without them. Barack Obama is definitely the enemy!

  5. Thank you for the post - It described many of my thoughts these days. I have been a long watcher of all shows and news political from PBS and the networks to MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News. I am down to Fox News even though I want to throw the TV out the window when Colmes starts babbling. At least there is something to balance against his nonsense. My last straw with CNN was after the Drew Griffin report on Ayers I watched Anderson Cooper ask basically - and so the problem is?.... - followed the next day by Candy Crowley refering to Ayers passingly as an "aquaintance". I have lots of aquaintances down at the beach, I know maybe their first name, almost never their last and what kind of board they surf on - those are aquaintainces - I did not sit in their church for twenty years and get my kids baptized by them, I was not accepted by them to chair the foundation they started and arrange to fund their radical education agenda, I did not write a jacket blurb for any books they wrote, and I did not get up and toast them at any formal functions. This is the year journalism died and they won't get me back unless somehow McCain pulls it out of the fire and I can tune in to laugh at these clowns. If the polls are correct I fear that the tipping point has been reached and the country is no longer worthy of caring about. I simply cannot bring myself to care about or respect a country that would elect this person to its highest office. I was ready for a democrat president with different views on many things, its happened before and I have always supported the person who sat in that office whether I voted for them or not unless they proved themselves unworthy which happened twice, once by a republican, once by a democrat, and even then I was happy to let the system work its way thru and accept the results, which it did in both cases - but somehow the cards have gone completely twisted and we get the most outrageous and dispicable candidate that was ever put forth by a major political party. This candidate is clearly unworthy of the office, it is so crystal clear that it is mind numbing to think where we are right now. And with the help of the MSM it looks like he will win with major support from a part of the population looking for re-distribution in their favor. This will no longer be America to me after November 4. My solution will be to tune out entirely, forever - Good luck to all.

  7. I'm right there with you, rg.

Lately I've had the exact same feeling. I can barely stand to watch the catastrophe, whether filtered through Fox or not. Whenever I hear Obama speak I get a physical reaction, almost nausea, like Alex in a Clockwork Orange.

Can Obama Pull Off A Hugo Chavez…You can bet your assets.
The Violent Crime Control Act of 1994 provides
additional powers to the President of the United
States, allowing the suspension of the
    Constitution and Constitutional rights of
Americans during a “drug crisis”. It provides for
the construction of detention camps, seizure of
property, and military control of populated areas.
This, teamed with the Executive Orders of the
President, enables Orwellian prophecies to rest on
whoever occupies the White House. The power
provided by these “laws” allows suspension of the
Constitution and the rights guaranteed in the Bill
of Rights during any civil disturbances, major
demonstrations and strikes and allows the military
to implement government ordered movements of
civilian populations at state and regional levels,
the arrest of certain unidentified segments of the
population, and the imposition of Martial Law.
When the Constitution of the United States was
framed it placed the exclusive legislative
authority in the hands of Congress and with the
President. Article I, Section 1 of the United
States Constitution is concise in its language,
“All legislative powers herein granted shall be
vested in a Congress of the United States, which
shall consist of a Senate and House of
Representatives.” That is no longer true. The Bill
of Rights protected Americans against loss of
freedoms. That is no longer true. The Constitution
provided for a balanced separation of powers. That is no longer applicable.
Perhaps it can be summed up succinctly in the words of arch-conservative activist Howard J Ruff. “Since the enactment of Executive Order 11490, the only thing standing between us and
dictatorship is the good character of the President, and the lack of a crisis severe enough that the public would stand still for it.” Here are just a few Executive Orders that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10990 allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998 allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001 allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate communities, build new housing with public funds, designate areas to be abandoned, and establish new locations for populations.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways and public storage facilities.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President. Here are the later Executive Orders:
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issued over a fifteen year period.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institution in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 12148 created the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that is to interface with the Department of Defense for civil defense planning and funding. An “emergency czar” was appointed. FEMA has only spent about 6 percent of its budget on national emergencies, the bulk of their funding has been used for the construction of secret underground facilities to assure continuity of government in case of a major emergency, foreign or domestic.
EXECUTIVE ORDER 12656 appointed the National Security Council as the principal body that should consider emergency powers. This allows the government to increase domestic intelligence and surveillance of U.S. citizens and would restrict the freedom of movement within the United States and granted the government the right to isolate large groups of civilians. The National Guard could be federalized to seal all borders and take control of U.S. air space and all ports of entry. Many of the figures in the Iran-Contra scandal were part of this emergency contingent, including Marine Colonel Oliver North.
The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (VCCLEA; also known as the Biden Crime Law) was an act of Congress dealing with crime and law enforcement that became law in 1994. It is the largest crime bill in the history of the US and will provide for 100,000 new police officers, $9.7 billion in funding for prisons and $6.1 billion in funding for prevention programs which were designed with significant input from experienced police officers. [1] Sponsored by U.S. Representative Jack Brooks of Texas, the bill was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.
After spending nine years in Navy Intelligence as a Cryptologist, intercepting communications from Marxist/Socialist countries, breaking their codes, and gathering intelligence in “other” ways. I am familiar with their methods of using the media for propangada, using the educational system to indoctrinate young minds, using the judicial system, and voter fraud to steal elections.
This is what is happening now in america.
From everything I have researched in the last two years, has lead me to conclude that Obama was selected, tutored, groomed, scripted, and financed by Radical Marxist/Socialists to become the puppet leader of the USSA.
There is a vast difference between Social Democrats and Radical Marxist/Socialists. Hillary Clinton is a Social Democrat. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Schumer, Durbin, Franks,Boxer, and a few others now in Congress are Radical Marxist/Socialists.
On my website: [valsword.spaces.live.com] I have a 16 minute video of an interview with Yure Bezmenov a KGB agent who defected in 1970. This interview was recorded 24 years ago,
and the transcript highlights, in Yuri’s own words confirm what I mentioned in the first paragraph.
I pray that I am wrong, but from everything I have researched, I believe Obama, with a Reid Pelosi led Congress, with a radical judicial system will pull a Hugo Chavez.
With a filibuster proof congress led by Reid and Pelosi. What is to stop Obama from pulling a Hugo Chavez. A closed mind is like a locked door, unless the right key is found, nothing enters. Unfortunately for many the key will be hindsight.
    Frank Marshal Davis

    Wright.
    Dohrn
    Odinga

    The New Party
All Radical Marxist/Socialist links in Obama’s
chain that launched his political career, and
unlike the theory of evolution, there are no missing links.
Davis, a known, avowed Communist Mentored Obama
as a teenager shaping his social views, and fostered his hate for whites.
The rest of the Radical Associations reinforced
Davis’s teachings, and the Socialist NEW PARTY launched Obama’s career.
    Obama, selected, tutored, groomed, scripted,
and financed by Radical Marxist/Socialists to become
the puppet leader of the UNITED SOCIALIST STATES OF AMERICA
If you do not believe associations shape the
character and judgement of a person, why do you
NOT let your child hang out with the local street gangs and crack heads.
All of the people I listed are linked together, all share the same values, all are long term and continious Associations of Obama. They are not just random accidental associations with whackos that everyone encounters occaisionally.
In a recent address to his subjects, carried by fiat on all of the nation’s television channels, Venezuela’s authoritarian president Hugo Chávez Frias, who has previously taken over the airways for the celebration of his own birthday, now turned his country’s attention to more urgent matters. The time had come, he explained, to move the “Bolivarian revolution” from its Lenin-like beginnings of transitional capitalism towards a more robust command economy. The nation had at last “broken the chains of the old, exploitative capitalist system,” he said. “The state now has the obligation to build the model of a socialist economy.”The next stage of the socialist revolution will require making thirty-three separate amendments to the Venezuelan constitution—a document Chávez previously rewrote upon his ascension to Miraflores Palace in 1999. The most dramatic and controversial change will eliminate presidential term limits, ensuring the fulfillment of Chavez’s promise not to leave office until 2021. To Hugo Chávez, a permanent revolution requires that he wield permanent power. It’s a risky move, considering recent opinion polls showing a majority of Venezuelans skeptical to further constitutional “reform,” especially if it means the possibility of adopting a President Chávez for life. But the same public, polling data demonstrates, also opposed the government’s refusal to renew a broadcast license for RCTV, the country’s oldest and most anti-Chávez private television network, and that storm seems to have passed

  9. I feel the same, Roger. Anyway, cheer up, there's always the civil war that will come if the Obama rule turns out the way we all fear that it will.

    [quoting the late George Mason]

What really concerns me, however, is that this may well precipitate another civil war within America. That war will pit those of the Left (the anti-Americans) against those of the Right (the pro-Americans). Wars may be necessary occasionally, but they are never good. Even the best have a real Pyrrhic victory quality to them. Recovering from a civil war would be as horrible as having one.

  10. I can say now, unequivocally, that I am by your side throughout this battle, Roger.

I have not been blogging long, a place I could go in a cathartic exercise, blow off steam or write about whatever nonsense was in my head. Not a gathering place, not a source of income; it was neither listed nor crawled. It was marked boldly as being my own soapbox; if someone did not like what I had to say, they were welcome to use the BACK button at the top left of the screen. I made the sad mistake of joining MyBlogLog.

I have now locked it down, open to public perusal no longer.

An Obamamaniac I met through MBL became "offended" by something (I admit, it was ugly; but it was her choice not to push that big green arrow) I wrote about O Great One. After a vicious slicing by forked tongue, I was tried and convicted in the Twitter Kangaroo Court, not even knowing I had been indicted until my site was bombarded by the "jurors" there to witness another tongue-lashing courtesy of my MBL "friend." My crime: Being a [FILL IN EXPLETIVE OF YOUR CHOICE] BIGOT.

I am terrified what is going to happen Tuesday, no matter who wins the election. If Obama gets his crown and scepter, I am certain we will be hunted and shot as dogs for not having bowed and scraped when ordered to do so. If McCain wins, we will be hunted and shot as dogs anyhow, for stealing the election and attempting to deny O Great One his true destiny.

I am sickened and offended by the manipulation of things I say and words not my own being put in my mouth.

I am tired of living in fear of what is around the corner, having been at the receiving end of brute force tactics used by "THEM," and destroyed emotionally, physically, and financially without cause; wondering every day when I send my children off to school if I will see the day again that they do not come home, legally abducted by the State (it will be worse when his disciples have free rule).

I am appalled at being reduced to tears for doing nothing more than stating my opinion; twisted and mutilated and shoved back down my throat.

This is not the America my family sought out, a refuge from tyranny and a land where liberty reigned supreme. I feel deep in my heart that Tuesday, that America will no longer exist. We cannot allow her to die in vain.

I am now also a bitter, lonely, hate-filled right-winger racist; an obsessive, antisocial paranoid clinging to a semi-mythical and long-gone past; and an uptight reactionary fearful of change, stubbornly rejecting the promise of a bright future.

At least I find myself in good company.

  11. I too can only stomach Fox News, but only so much of it. I won't watch Hannity & Colmes as much or O'Reilly at all any longer. Colmes irritates me too much and O'Reilly is too self absorbed.

Still, the overall News Reports seem to remain fair and balanced.

Mostly, I listen to the radio during the day, Rush in the A.M. (in the pacific northwest), Hannity, Levin and a local program.

Otherwise, I read what news I can glean from the internet sites I visit.

  12. Point on, Roger. Once the infection of 'mediacitis' took hold, it was just a matter of pages and sound-bites before the freedom of the press took on the license of propaganda.
Those who still think (and avow that) Baraq Obama is a good man are the same who would applaud Schickelgruber for being a great vegatarian.
Regretfully, even Fox is behaving as though the Fairness Doctrine has taken them over. Well, they have held out longer, I'll give them that.
It is interesting enough that finally some issue is being raised about Obama's "civilian security" force "better funded that the military".
(I've been repeating that quote since April.)
I found it far more condemnable that Rev. Wright or Michelle, but consistent with Ayres and Bodine who would re-hire a Cheka and Farrakhan (bow-tied-civilian thuggery).
In that reference he could be challenged without pause. O'Reilly would be free of his loftiness and the picky-picky harangues of Hannity could be converted to something a bit more cerebral (That guy is just about juvenile. Right hearted, but juvenile.)
But with campaign censorship, obfuscation of the truth (when a lie won't work), revenge investigations of the most noble of our common folk (Joe is really a prince among us.), and a statement that he would employ the most extraordinary measures to 'secure' what the military cannot. That is a political police state.
Think of Ohio's political establishment and then of Goering, the first National Socialist Party victor as 'Herr Praesident' of Prussia.
    But, I digress.
The statement about the civilian security force was in December 07'. Who cared then? Some with me did. Time to read Niebuhr and Bonhoeffer before their works along with Paine and that little piece..."When in the course of human events...." are burned.
Aren't you just 'pickled tink' that we have managed to raise and 'educate' our young to such a high level that they don't have to rely on such trite things and loylaty and ethics.
They're OUR young who are voting for Obama and filling his throngs not Fox News (just like young "Red GUards" cadres ran rampant over the middle aged and senior citizenry of China. Think about that tomorrow.
Stuff the outrage, we know where. We have too much to do; McCain or the 'Kenyan Kid'.

  14. Roger, I couldn't anymore in what you conveyed in this thread, as well as the other threads too. I too, get sick when I see the pundits (even on Fox Cable News) give into the Obama machine. This is not just about electing a new President who will be taking over the reigns during some of the most extreme difficult times our nation has faced in quite a long time. In fact it disturbs me to a point I never thought I would have to be. Because this election is truly about the survivial of our nations existence as we have known it. And how our forefathers established our great nation.

I can't believe in how Obama has sucked in so many people based on his rhetoric only. Roger, you and many others have done this country a great service to inform people of what will become if Obama is elected. I seriously hope you and your pundits have gotten through to some regarding the severity of this matter.

I would like to thank you for being so diligent in your quest to educated and inform your readers of what were up against. I'm a pretty optimistic person. And think we'll prevail some way or another. Sometimes it takes a cause to move a few steps backwards, to make huge leaps forward. So if Obama is elected. It might be the 2012 election in which we take those giant leaps forward. I just pray we don't have to wait another four years.

You and your contributors should be extremely proud of what you all did and achieved. Instead of just bitching and whinning...you actual took action and became proactive, opposed to being reactive. So, I appauled and admire all you efforts. I just hope it was enough.

As for polling thats can be deceiving to say the least. Since polling has many variations of the methods they use to attain their results. And then polling a few thousand people isn't a true reflection of what everyone is thinking. I don't believe that the younger generation will be voting in record numbers as predicted.

Polls have been wrong on several occasions too. Well, just have to wait and see what comes. Again, thank you for all your hard work and sacrificing much of your personal life to help other. Biden said paying higher taxes is being patriotic....what bunch of rhetorical bullsh*t. You and your readers are the true patriots who are loyal and love their country as it is.

So many people I speak to tell me that change is need in our country today. And I actually agree with them. But, I also tell these people. That not all change necessrily means it's always "good change."

Even the Obama campaign is beginning to say that it will take time to implement some of the things he wants to do. Because Obama knows realistically that he can't do it in 100 days. He is now saying it will take more like 1000 days to accomplish his changes...Well, that's a bit over three years. Yet people buy into his crap. Obama knows very well that 85% of the things he wants to do cannot be done. And imagine if Obama stuck to his "initial" promise to rely on public donations only. He wouldn't have gotten nearly as much money to campaign. Whereas, McCain stayed true to only using public contributions. That in it's self should have been a red flag to people early on. That Obama doesn't stand by his promises or convictions. If anything, Obama, is a master manipulator. Who used his rhetoric to feed on the masses fears. Now is this the kind of man we want in the White House? I don't think so. Since, integrity goes a long way. And that's something Obama doesn't have.

  15. Roger, God has opened your eyes to the truth; sometimes this awareness can seem a curse and sometimes seem a blessing, but either way the truth can suck.

At least 90% of black people will vote for Obama in this election, so on a happier note and realization, nothing will have changed for any election of late, so it isn't the black vote Republicans need to worry about - it is everyone else's.

I am praying for America, because I know that there is only one who can change the hearts and minds of mankind. I've tried and failed myself before, but when I gave up my worries to God, He came through immediately. God Bless America
