Michelle Obama's Diamond "Thank You" Ring

Cross-posted by Maggie at Maggie's Notebook

According to the DailyMail, Michelle Obama's man, Barack, is saying "thank you" with a diamond encrusted ring made of rhodium, the most expensive metal in the world priced at about $7,400 per ounce. The $30,000.00 ring made by Italian designer Giovanni Bosco, will be ready in time for Obama's January 2009 inauguration.

  1. If that is the ring then he has very poor taste. It is the kind of ring that new rich give to their wives to impress old money. It neither impresses or makes them look rich either.

  2. That is possibly the most hideous ring I have ever seen. So I guess it will be perfect for Old Bulldog face our new "first lady" who is hardly a lady at all.......

  3. The sentiment is great. It's a kind gesture, but the leftist illuminati isn't doing a good job of "understanding" the average American and the recession when he buys something that costs more than many americans' yearly salary as a present.

  4. Wasn´t it... Resdribution of wealth?! Not everybody has a ring like that, you know. Could it be cut into 10 pieces and give the pieces to 10 people? 1 piece for Michelle of course, hey «we» wanna be just.

  5. I noticed a report that Obama has denied this purchase. The supplier just said he could not talk about it now, and basically intimated that he probably lost the sale because of the publicity:-)

  6. Money is easier to redistribute than a ring. Not everybody has that amount of money.

    $30,000.00 : 10 people = $3,000.00
