Lilliputians of our own have us all bound and tied.
It is a question of people-pleasing (other people).
To provide for the "common good" and "ensure the general welfare" is meant for the citizens of this country.
Attacks upon this country are not acts of bravery. He was reffering to our need to adopt Israeli attitudes and tactics in order to prevent future terror attacks. We have largely failed to do so, owing to our allegiance to the PC Crap some peddle as "human rights."

Those that would use legitimate human rights and freedoms to facilitate the murder of innocent human beings (as did the 9/11 terrorists et al)forfeit all claim to said rights. It is entirely reasonable to take effective and proven measures for thwarting them in their designs.

Cheers,

CharlieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5041404668013008872.post-27237962298628749052008-04-11T01:37:00.000-07:002008-04-11T01:37:00.000-07:00Well said KG. But until we can actually bring ourselves to deal with that monumental problem we can at least be willing to do what it takes to make our airlines safer.
And to Findalis -- that's great that you can share your first hand experience flying El Al with us all. And to me, you conclusions are inarguable.
As you well know, this critical argument affects more than just our air travel; it entails our whole approach to Homeland Security. Until we are willing to cut out all the PC crap and face up to reality we will remain vulnerable.
To me, those among us who try to thwart our ability to fight back against these terrorist threats are as much the enemy as al Qaeda. If you are making our enemy's job easier, then you yourself have become the enemy. Sorry, but that's just basic logic.Roger W. I know that I have to be at the airport at least 2 hours before my flight. My luggage will be hand searched (not just scanned) and I will be questioned. I accept this so that I can have a safe flight. I also know that the crew are all former Israeli military members (yes even the flight attendants) and they are trained in counter-terrorist measures.

Why can't US airlines have the same level of security that El Al has? Yes it goes the extra distance, and some jerk might answer the questions as if they were a joke. But make no mistake, the first time that happened would be the jerks last time.

And racial profiling is a must. If you are insulted or inconvenienced too bad!
